Bitter & Brittle

People who are bitter are brittle.

(Bitter people are brittle people).

Bitter: (of people or their feelings or behavior) angry, hurt, or resentful because of one's bad experiences or a sense of unjust treatment.

Brittle: hard but liable to break or shatter easily; unpleasantly hard and sharp and showing signs of instability or nervousness; (of a person or behavior) appearing aggressive or hard but unstable or nervous within.

✅They are overly defensive about almost everything. They take general comments personal when the comments are not directed towards them at all.

✅They carry a spirit of offense. They are easily offended.

✅They are unforgiving. They carry unforgiveness for things that happened decades ago. This is evident because they constantly find a way to slide it in numerous conversations.

✅They are ALWAYS complaining or mad about something. Complaining because the sun is shining. Complaining because it's cold or raining. Mad because gas prices went up 3 cents. Mad because it's Monday. Their conversations always carry a negative tone.

✅They are jealous and envious of the most minute things that doesn't make sense to be jealous over.

✅They hate to see others do good or win.

✅They rarely complement or say good things about others

Preventive measures to becoming bitter & brittle: Strengthen yourself in God. Study and implement the fruits of the Spirit. (Galatians 5). Study the life of Jesus Christ (Matthew & Luke). Fasting, and last but not least, prayer!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Ephesians 6:10 KJV

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Ephesians 6:10 AMP
