What do you VALUE in life?
When that question is asked, what are the first few things that come to mind? The things we value are the things we tend to defend, take out time for, stand up for and fight for. This could be things and/or people such as: our beliefs, our family, our jobs, our careers, our businesses, etc...
On the contrary, there are some dispensable things and people in our lives that we greatly value ABOVE those things we should value as it pertains to God.
Are you putting your trust and faith in corporate jobs/careers because it's what brings the money necessary for livelihood OR are you trusting and depending on God who said that He would take care of you even if management decides to fire you tomorrow? No it's not wrong to value certain things, but the error occurs when we start valuing things above God! There must be balance.
I heard the Lord say today that some of the things people value have become their idols. They are dedicated to these things, they give much of themselves to these things, even lie and do certain acts to protect these things they VALUE.
Listen: I value and honor my husband and leaders - BUT I do not value and honor them above God!
As this New Year sets in, reflect on some of the things you value, inspect your routines and habits. Most importantly - make sure God is at the top of the list! Also, list these values according to your lifestyle and behavior and not by what you say or feel.
***Notes: Value - consider (someone or something) to be important or beneficial; have a high opinion of;
a person's principles or standards of behavior; one's judgment of what is important in life.***
